Breathwork

Breathe into the present moment and discover the power within you.

What is Breathwork?

Breathwork is the practice of bringing awareness to your breath and using a variety of techniques to achieve different results. These techniques may include speeding up or slowing down the breath, breathing through the nose or the mouth in various ways, working with sounds, moving with the breath, and more.

Intentionally working with the breath is not a new concept. Yogis have been working with the breath for millennia in the practice of Pranayama.

The recent surge of interest in Breathwork began in the 1970s when Stanislav Grof (an LSD researcher) discovered Pranayama and brought these techniques to the West as “a drug-free way to induce a non-ordinary state of consciousness”. He created the practice of Holotropic Breathwork. People who practice Breathwork are amazed by the effects. Now the many benefits of Breathwork are being widely researched and confirmed by science.

Holotropic Breathwork gained popularity and transformed into other modalities, including Conscious Connected Breathwork, which is what I practice and guide people in. With CCB there is more gentleness, space, and permission than other Breathwork modalities, but the effects are just as powerful, if not more so. In my sessions, I mix in different Breathwork modalities and techniques depending on your intentions.

How can Breathwork support you?

Breathwork is great for reducing stress. If you have a problem on your mind that you can’t stop thinking about, taking 30-45 minutes to breathe through it helps clear the mind, move the stress out of your body, and create spaciousness for new ideas and solutions to be revealed.

A lot of people like to use Breathwork to process emotions and heal from past traumas. As the research continues to show, “the body keeps the score”. We often store painful experiences in our body as tension, disease, and more. By creating the space to connect to that pain and breathe through it, we find ways to heal and release it.

In my Breathwork sessions, it is quite common for people to have profound spiritual and energetic experiences - connecting with their experience of God as influenced by their religion and beliefs, getting messages from loved ones who have passed on, astral traveling, moving energy in their body, and more.

Breathwork is a holistic solution for your mind, body, emotions, energy, and soul. I’d be curious to hear what kind of experience you’re interested in having. Send me an email if this work speaks to you and we can explore working together.

1-on-1 and Group Sessions Available

1-on-1 Sessions

In a 1-on-1 session, the Breathwork experience is all about you and completely tailored to you. We spend the first 15-20 minutes talking about what’s on your mind, then I guide you through Breathwork for the next 30-45 minutes, and the last 10-15 minutes are allotted to integration and processing your experience. I hold the space for you and intuitively guide you with music and spacious prompts. There is an option (completely optional) for physical touch that supports the Breathwork process during in-person sessions. Sessions are available online via Zoom and in person on a case-by-case basis.

Group Sessions

Doing Breathwork in a group environment is an amazing experience. Each person embarks on their own, individual journey, but there is ample opportunity for sharing and connection for whoever wishes to participate in that. I speak for ~15 minutes about the Breathwork technique and offer a theme for the Breathe that anyone can choose to tune into. Then we breathe for about 35 minutes in the Conscious Connected Breathwork modality.  Then there is ~10 minutes for sharing. Get on my email list to be notified of my upcoming group sessions or contact me to have me lead Breathwork for your community, workplace, event, or retreat.
